Simplify Contours Tool
This command reduces the number of segments of contours or other poly-line curves, making them easier to work with.
Simplify Contours Tool

When you import contour line drawings that were executed in other CAD applications, SketchUp will often convert polyspline contours into polylines that contain hundreds or even thousands of straight-line segments. This script reduces the number of edge segments that make up the contour lines, which in turn reduces the overall file size making it easier to work with the countours in SketchUp.

I'd recommend ThomThom's EdgeTools for this. Instead of some angle you set maximum allowed deviation.

I made a sketch of my office http://www.assignmentland.co.uk and it's really squished together with notes all over it and some parts are whited out. I asked relatives if it looks alright and they said it was alright. But I'm having doubts an architect will understand everything I want to the fullest. Should I remake it to make it look better, or more readable

DIT: Solution: My contours were still on a single plane, not adjusted to their elevation differences yet. When I moved each contour line up by its needful 2' increment, and then ran the plugin, it worked as expected. Hope this helps someone.http://february2018calendar.info

It erases some of the lines no matter what angle is set.

Solution: It will not work If there are overlapping lines .

Problem: When I select the contours and apply the plugin, it simply "deletes" all my contours, leaving nothing at all remaining. Anyone have any ideas on this? Really need this tool, as I have a large model with many imported contours, and way too many tiny lines forming each of them.

EDIT: Solution: My contours were still on a single plane, not adjusted to their elevation differences yet. When I moved each contour line up by its needful 2' increment, and then ran the plugin, it worked as expected. Hope this helps someone.

Much appreciation for the great plugin!

it clearly says it works with 8. The first thing it asks me to do is open Sketchup 2013. How the hell does it work for 8?

Ritratto di Heather S

Just follow the same instructions in 8- go to the preferences panel and install extension.

The SketchUp team uses our APIs to build all sorts of specialized tools. Some of these extensions ship with SketchUp as full-blown features, and some are just examples of how to use our APIs.
