Maxwell for SketchUp has the render engine built-in, so no other applications or programs are needed. And you don't need to export your scenes anywhere, it all happens from the comfort of your SketchUp interface!

Maxwell for SketchUp is really simple to set-up - just install the plugin and you're off.

And because its Maxwell, it's all about reality and the real language of light. So you don't need to be a CG expert to get photorealistic images from your 3d models. It's incredibly easy to use, and you'll be amazed at the results!

Tried and tried, but could NOT download the free version from their website.
If their website doesn't work right, how confident should I be in their software?

I purchased Maxwell thinking the commercial version would be faster and produce usable material in less time. However, the commercial version is identical to the trial version so make sure you try it extensively before you buy. I've tried a week with different settings, looked at all the tutorial videos and the manual. Still not able to get descent looking images from this renderer within a reasonable amount of time. The noise in the images is terrible and lighting is always off. The interface looks straightforward but you need to do a lot of tinkering in order to get results.

If you are using the Maxwell Sketchup plugin make sure you update to the latest version 3.0.1-rs which was released on Feb 18th. It appears to have fixed the stability issues I was having with v3.0.0 on the Mac and OS Mavericks :)

Thanks Next Limit!

I love the looks I can get with this plugin, but it crashes soooo much when running on the Mac. I've been using v 2.7 and 2.7.2 on with Sketchup 8 Pro and 2013 Pro for the last 15 months and it used to cause at three or four crashes a day. Then I saw that Maxwell v3 was out so I stumped up and upgraded and now I'm up to about ten crashes a day!

Before it would crash in a sort of predictable way e.g. when I tried to load a new material, or if I changed an environment setting while Fire was rending or when I interacted with the plugin. Now it just crashes randomly whenever it feels like it! :(

Come on Next Limit! Sort it out, this is over $1000 worth of software that runs like a dog. The end result can look fantastic, but getting there is hell...

This plugin caused Sketchup 8 to crash on a Mac running OSX 10.6.

Yep it's crashing on simple, small models for me as well.

This is my 18th render program which is far better than the 17 other rendering programs that i have used, with Maxwell it has the simplist rendering menu, no complexities whatsoever; i was working on a live scale 100% detailed model of the world traide center complext, with live textures, live detailed city background, live evening sky and building lighting, 14 of my other most expensive rendering programs had too many limit with errors for this kind of scale and details, plus the rendering time took between 17 and 19hr Maxwell only took 9hrs.
