Enscape Rendering for SketchUp

Real-time 3D walk-throughs with live integration in SketchUp

Enscape™ is a virtual reality (VR) and real-time rendering plugin for SketchUp. With just one click, you can start Enscape and within seconds walk through your fully rendered project - no uploading to cloud or exporting to other programs required! All changes in SketchUp are immediately available to evaluate in Enscape. You are quickly able to explore different design options and present projects to clients. If the client wants to see something different in the design, Enscape will show the changes you make to the project immediately. With the option to create a standalone file of your architectural project, you can send an Enscape file to your clients or colleagues which allows for quick demonstrations.

Enscape has become a standard application in projects worldwide at companies like Foster + Partners or Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF).

I have been using Enscape since May of 2017. It is a great product, but there is room for improvement. The Enscape team provides new versions often, and they are listening to their customers. Their support team is very responsive, which is something you don't get very often these days.
The software provides very accurate real-time rendering, but the VR and standalone application resolutions/detail are not there yet. You will need to optimize your models for VR. Textures and shapes do well, but I have difficulty with the fine details within the models.

Don't get me wrong, this is a really great product, and easy to use, just make sure to have a high-end graphics card. I have two machines which use a 1080TI and a Quadro M4000. I wouldn't use anything under the 1080ti. You will also need to keep your graphics card driver up to date, check it early and often.
If you are on the fence about getting the software, I would suggest getting a subscription for a month to try it out. This is what I did initially before getting the full license.

We have used this for Rendering and Virtual Reality walkthroughs on the HTC Vive with clients. It so far has been an excellent visual tool within both Sketchup and Revit 2017.

Trying to use Enscape for renderings to complete my architectural thesis. My SketchUp 2017 model keeps bug splatting everytime I try to run enscape. I'm worried the model is too complex. I am trying simple square templates to troubleshoot but it seems like it might be the enscape sketchup connections.

Hello Kyle

my first guess: you have an unsupported graphics card or outdated drivers.

If you use the feedback button, our support will get the needed information (e.g. system specification) to help you.

I can't make to work my enscape license into my sketch-up 2016. I'm not allowed to upgrade to 2017 ... any solution ?

Enscape GmbH's picture

Hello Alejandro

Enscape should work with SketchUp 2016. If you have problems, please use the feedback button in the Enscape menu or toolbar. This way we can effectively help you. If you do not have an Enscape menu or toolbar, please write an email to our support. You can find the email address on the right column.

Its great!!

Fantastic so far.
I have to use the water keyword for the glass material to get the best results
It looks so good I may have to specify wobbly glass :)
Cant wait for the official release!

Can anyone tell me when this software is available for MAc?

Thanks
Rene

Hello Rene,

currently, Enscape requires a Windows 64-bit OS in order to be able to run, Windows 7 or later. Most Mac computers, unfortunately, rely on Intel graphics cards, which are not strong enough to display the quality Enscape provides fluently. However, if you're using a Mac that, otherwise, meets our System Requirements, you're free to use Bootcamp to run Windows on your machine. In that case, it should run perfectly fine.

You can read about our system requirements here: https://enscape3d.com/knowledgebase/system-requirements/
