This seems to be an issue with the extension warehouse.

You can download the installer which is equivalent to the extension from the following link

I installed the plugin correctly (Sketchup 2015) and can not use. I bought a license but did not get the key to liberation.
Thank you.

Please send an email to license@simlab-soft.com

They will be glad to help.

I am excited to be able to share pdf models with clients who aren't using SU. However, when I click Export 3D PDF nothing happens. Unfortunately the work computer I was given is a 32 bit machine, might this be the reason?

Charly B's picture

Grard B's picture

Does the tool work under Sketchup 2016?

SimLab S.'s picture

The plugin was updated, now it supports SketchUp 2016

Daniel D.'s picture

OK. I tried it on my Mac and all I get is a blank. I have 2016 operating on a Mac- I just said that.

I'm not interested in having a trial version if it works...

Can you please advise

Daniel D.'s picture

could have fooled me...I tried four times and I get a blank document in 2016

This is a very interesting product but unless it works, it does nothing at all for me...

SimLab S.'s picture

Make sure you open the PDF with the free acrobat reader.

The default mac viewer does not support 3D, so all what the recipient needs is to have open the file with the free acrobat reader.

SimLab S.'s picture

We are almost done with the testing for SketchUp 2016 support, we hope to have it ready next week

I have installed the pluguin correctly (sketchup 2015) but when I tried to work with it, the toolbar it does not work. I also download the licence for 15 tries, but I can not export a 3d pdf. What do you think it could be the problem?

Thanks.

SimLab S.'s picture

please contact support@simlab-soft.com we will be glad to help you.

please let them know what happens when you try to export?
and if this happens with a specific model or with all models?

kendall W.'s picture

Is this compatibale with LightUp plug-in? Does it work with the Style's watermark settings?

SimLab S.'s picture

Actually we do not test with LightUp if it updates the original SketchUp model they should work together.

if not you can export the model from LightUp as a FBX import it to SimLab Composer and export it from SimLab Composer as a 3D PDF.

When installing the PDF exporter software, I received a warning from Sketchup that this software will have access to all my files and I shouldn’t grant it lightly if I don’t know the author.
Should I be worried that you have unauthorised access to my computer?
Thanks
MM

SimLab S.'s picture

All what plugin does it that is saves a backup version of the model that is being exported.
it seems SketchUp is monitoring any use of file access calls.

You have nothing to worry about.

THis product did not work for me. It just exported flat pdfs

SimLab S.'s picture

Did you make sure the template you are using includes 3D area?

Did you open the file with the free Acrobat reader?

Daniel D.'s picture

What about the clients we send the files to? would they have to buy the PDF reader?? since the free might not work?

with only 15 tries it is hard to figure out anything with this program. When I press a button called create 3D PDF I think it is reasonable to get a 3D PDF. You need to consider extending your trial time or change your unnecessarily complex interface.

SimLab S.'s picture

if you needed an extended trial, please email license@simlab-soft.com and we will be glad to extend the license.

Basic functionality is very easy, you need to set the view in SketchUp
Select a template
then click export 3D PDF.

I have no clue what I am supposed to do here... this is extraordinarily unclear.

Is there a STL or STEP converter/ exporter

SimLab S.'s picture

We have an STL exporter, more information at the following link

Is there a size limitation on exporting a 3d model. I have a 300 MB SketchUp model, it exports with no errors, but when I go to open the file, nothing is in the directory. I have used it on smaller models with no issues.

SimLab S.'s picture

The plugin uses some 32 bit components, so it can not allocate more than 2GB of memory, which may be needed for a model of this size while generating the 3D PDF file.

Dan A.'s picture

A cool tool, but the 3d navigation is pretty clunky. So far, the orbit tool often becomes disorienting, as it doesn't seem to anchor to an object, and there doesn't appear to be any hotkeys to quickly switch from one tool to another, so the pdf is pretty inefficient to navigate.

SimLab S.'s picture

Dan,

If you take a look at the 3D tab, in the PDF settings:
You will notice two solutions we provide for navigation

1- For Large scenes where you want to move from one place to another, you can select SimLab Smart navigation which is a special navigation mode for navigating large scenes.

2- For smaller architectural models, try to change navigation mode to spin.

Allen B's picture

While it does a nice job of making the PDF, I wish to have the u3d object that I can insert in my own PDF documents. I also feel that there should be a price shown before I download and install something.

SimLab S.'s picture

Sorry trial if for 15 exports only

Dirk M's picture

Color by layer don't work by making 3d pdf.
Trail is not in days after 1 hour it's already closet, and still not doing what it must.

Dirk M's picture

It's not easy too activate...

Ciga H's picture

When will this be available for SketchUp 2013 on Mac?

SimLab S.'s picture

it now supports SketchUp 2013 and 2014 on Mac

Simpson S's picture

This is an incredible tool. Even with the free version of Acrobat you can navigate, change lighting, change styles, and even move groups and components around.
