nz_Implode

This Extension include the following two powerful tools.

Implode_All: Explodes all the groups/components with your drawing.

This is particularly useful

  • If your need to clean your drawing or groups/component prior to exporting to another application
  • if you are importing external models which need to be similarly cleaned or reduced to a singular collection or entities

Implode_Selection: Explodes all the groups/components with your selection leaving everything else intact

This is particularly useful

  • if you wish to avoid the need to run Implode_All externally within another drawing just so as to protect the rest of your model
  • if you need to quickly cleaning your own groups/componenets of their sub-components
  • if your need to clean imported models that are already within your workspace.
  • Upon completion this tool gives you the option of collecting all the loose entities in a new group or releasing them.  This option means you can both visually reassure yourself that the operation was successful (via outliner) and/or ensure that none of the entities are lost inbetween the implosion and your subsequent command

Settings:

Warning:             An optional warning can be enabled to alert your that the entire model is about to implode

RememeberMe: Settings can be retained between sessions if so desired.

Enjoy,

Why is it called nz_implode?

I've define explode as an action which reveals the contents of a group/component a la Sketchup: Explode whereas Implode can be considered as destroying the contents themselves and the shell for good measure... ;-) be sure to create something worthwhile.
