hello

Thanks for this useful tool.
i'm useing sketchup 2015, to use your Guide tool, I have to first choos an arc, then click "Extensions" in the sketchup menu, then move my mouse to "Guide tool", then pick the function I need such as "CPoint at Arc Center".

How can I add a button in the sketchup tool bar to do "CPoint at Arc Center" or other functions?

Thank you
Ethan

Like Nick, I am struggling to figure out how to use this extension. I have successfully installed it and have tried using it, but don't find that anything happens.

I selected a circle, then clicked on the guide tools extension, but nothing happens.

I'm guessing it is pretty easy to use, but I must be missing something. Please help.

Thank you.

Alison

Yes, my guides are checked under view. I still can't seem to get anything to happen.

Any other suggestions? I appreciate any help at all.

Thanks,
Alison

Could you make a thread in the forums and share the sample model?

(Easier to share files and follow up there.)

Hi. I'm struggling to use this plugin. Windows 7 and latest Sketchup. I've installed TT_Lib2 and Guide Tools and get confirmations that both are loaded and ready to use.

I'm assuming that the plugin works as before with a Draw Point at Centre option on the context right click menu? The option is not appearing. I've used theextension for years on previous versions of Sketchup but cant get it working on Sketchup 2014

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

I was wrong, just install plugin first TT_Lib ²
"Library of shared functions used by other extensions." from:
http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/tt_lib%C2%B2
And will work with SketchUp 6.

Does not work with SketchUp 6 at least for me.

I like this tool a lot, but it doesn't always work on exploded curves. I frequently import STL files into Sketchup and it's these circles I often have problems with. I guess Sketchup isn't treating imported STL circles the same way as a regular exploded circle.

ThomThom has a lot of great plug-ins. He's a real Sketchup master.

I hear you Nick, I too am a SU Noob and flailing heartily.

***** Solved *****
These three steps ultimately got Guide Tools working for me:

1) Uninstall plugin
2) Close Sketchup
3) Open Sketchup
4) Reinstall plugin

Those exact steps may not be necessary, and I did other things along the way. Perhaps the library required a restart of Sketchup. Regardless, this plugin is now in my Plugins menu.

Note: Lots of people must have trouble finding the plugins menu because there are multiple official help articles and forum posts about it. Everything I found was out of date and gave bad advice.

I discovered that: currently (2013-11-14 Sketchup v. 13.0.4812 on WIndows 8), the Plugins menu is hidden if empty. Sketchup *used* to include a plugin with sample ruby scripts that you could enable to see the Plugins menu. It is not longer included. The only solution I saw was to install plugins from the Extension Warehouse that put menu items there (optionally including the sample ruby scripts).

***** END SOLUTION *****

I'm new to plugins and I need some help. How do I use this plugin? I want to snap to the center of small circles, which sketchup doesn't infer unless I zoom in tight, and not always then. I've dug through menus, searched google, and read this article. I see the reference to Plugins >> Guide Tools but I don't have a top-level plugins menu. I've dug around for it, but I hope that I'm not expected to know where the plugins menu is hidden, and it's not even clear that Menu's & Toolbars is how I'm meant to use the plugin.

This is my first time using a plugin. I've been at it for 45 minutes. I've overcome several things (most recently finding this again in the Warehouse, since searching for it by name doesn't return the plugin). I'm pulling my hair out. I went down this road to save myself time and frustration.

Please help.

Thank you.

Nick
